Strange Dreams

In my dream last night I went to visit old college friends in Arizona whose fledgling gaming studio had resulted in the discovery of the secret of quantum physics.  They began doing experiments on harnessing quantum mechanics for human perception of reality, and were successful in completely destroying the barrier between space-time and alternate realities.  Through this new technology we were able to unbind our bodies and consciousness, and everything around us at a sub-molecular level.  This allowed us to transport ourselves where ever we wished, as well as distort reality around us at our whim.
Due to the success of these experiments, an unknown group of beings began following us for several days.  I got the impression of having broken an unknown universal law, and we began using this new ability only in secret while these beings were investigated our group.   They seemed to have similar abilities, not so much as following us where ever we went, as much as simply being where ever we were.  They never spoke, and only stood motionless at a distance, looking human, but having a distinct atmosphere of the inhuman.  Even though they were constantly nearby we were never able to get a good look at them, as looking directly at them seemed to cause them to go out of focus slightly, and they were only able to be truly perceived from the corner of ones eye.
