Had a strange dream where I escaped a modern day urban setting run by medieval peasants. My exit was preceded by a trailer park massacre via chain-gun, which left me looking for a place to sleep peacefully. I found a public park full of animals and, unable to sleep in the large, comfy tree full of tarantulas, I chose to cuddle up with the chickens in the run down shack nearby.
My most recent dream was of staring in a classic, 1950′s-era film titled “Gone But Not Forgotten”, in which myself and three others traveled across the continental U.S. in the aftermath of an alien invasion. The film was artfully shot, and had a haunting, “last man on earth” type atmosphere to it. Only the four characters were seen for the entire film, though there was a heavy element of surrealism as scenes and environments throughout would frequently reflect a sense of unnatural alien presence, later to be revealed as only man made situations or constructs looked upon with an alternate perspective or feeling of paranoia.
In the first memorable dream I’ve had in a while, I dreamed I was partaking in/watching a non-existent Star Wars film. In it I was aboard the Millinium Falcon with Han Solo, Chewbacca, Luke, Leia, the girl-engineer from Firefly, and some other woman who was Han’s girlfriend. In this movie we traveled to half a dozen or more planets piecing together parts to repair Lukes lightsaber.
On one planet we got the Falcon stuck in a deep pit, nose up, causing all of us to fall all the way the length of the ship and into the back, before firing the engines to blast straight up through the ground to escape. On another Han found a data-base that restored his memory (he was amnesiac), where he discovered that he was actually named Han Chan, was married, had two kids, and had abandoned them four years prior when he lost his memory. His girlfriend was upset. On another planet we fought in a large battle with huge creatures everywhere, where Luke finally acquired the last piece of his lightsaber, and before flying off to his final battle with Darth Vader we all flew to a resort-planet for breakfast, where we got one big booth together and ordered their galaxy-famous omelettes.
In my dream last night I was flying around assembling different spherical wooden puzzles. Each was of varying size, but all of them were massive, from the size of a building on up to a small planet. Each one began as a rough foundation with the missing pieces scattered around, and I floated around the shape while moving each puzzle piece into its place to complete it, before moving onto the next.
Midway through the dream my friend Emmy and her husband showed up. We visited a while, but she had to return to work and I was left to continue my massive construction.
In last nights dream I was staying in a run-down hostel near a beach-like community. The single-room building was full of old wooden beds and bunk beds, and there were a large number of families staying there. For some reason, cats would come in at night and pee on the beds, so the place was quite a dump.
I slept in one morning while waiting for the showers to become available, and I was woken by screams of excitement. People outside were enjoying the local entertainment of riding around in groups of 6 – 10 in inflated rubber rafts tied to balloons. The makeshift airships were very unwieldy, and the people would yell and scream for fun as they would raise and dip chaotically, ramming into buildings, bouncing off cars in traffic, and so on. Strangely the whole situation didn’t seem dangerous to anyone, and there were at least 3 or 4 such “rides” going on directly across from the hostel at all times. At one point I think I saw a super-size raft flying around with a Winnebago on it.
Last nights dream – I was playing the new Megaman 9, running through a level fighting large minibosses as myself. After reaching one long miniboss the game became ‘real’ and the view switched to first person (though I could still only move on a single, linear path). I had to fight the boss in this perspective while dodging the game-typical, incredibly slow moving bullets he shot.
After destroying his outer armor a group of bystanders lent me their oyster-eggs so I could finish the pilot of the boss off by hitting him in the face with yolk.
Last week sometime I dreamed of helping Jim Carrey make a zombie film. I was the camera man for the first half, and later took over the responsibilities of lighting measurements.
I dreamed I went camping with my Mom, Dad and sister. After stopping for breakfast early, my Dad and I fought about turning around and returning home to retrieve what I’d forgotten. I took my things and decided to walk all the way back on my own, saying I’d catch up with them later. My walk back transformed into the campground my family was staying at. There I met my family and my Aunts and Uncles. The campground itself was full of a variety of animals. One in particular rabbit laying in the sun near a small brook had the facial features of a furry human being. He wore a grimace on his face, as though he were old and miserable. There were also several mutant-monkeys that would continually steal food from the tents. They would also attack us playfully, one clamping onto my leg so hard I thought it would break. The dream ended as we were playing with one of the dozens of dogs roaming the area.
In a dream several nights ago my girlfriend and I were riding bikes together in an unknown town. The weather was sunny and very pleasant, however every other lot where houses should have stood, it was instead a hole in the ground. Peering into the holes we could see the sky below us, and the ground only appeared to be a dozen or so feet thick, as though the neighborhood we were in was floating in the sky.
We rode around the town for the rest of the dream, but frequently one of us would fall into one of the holes. When this happened the one who fell in would be teleported back to a starting location, and the other would have to ride their bike all the way back to meet up. Since it occurred multiple times we found it easier to throw ourselves into the hole when the other went over, just so we could both end up back at the same place with less hassle.
Another dream of wandering through a bazaar or convention-like atmosphere, browsing used games at vendors’ stalls. There were only a couple of used game shops in this one, and I got mad at one of them for charging $140 for an import Tales game.
